 | Born in London, England, Yolande Witkin began her lifelong relationship with the piano at the age of 5 when she discovered that a certain piece of furniture in her living room was a means for self expression. At the age of 6, she was enrolled into her first years of intense piano study with the Royal College of Music in London, England where she went on to complete Grades 1-6 with distinction. In 1986, Yolande and her family emigrated to America where she continued to explore her music personally but without the guidance of a teacher for a few years. In 1996, Yolande pursued her Bachelor of Arts Degree at Rollins College in Winter Park Florida and began teaching piano to beginners whilst she continued her studies. After Graduating in 2000, Yolande began her full time piano teaching career and has taught many students of all different level and ages in Florida, Mexico, Hawaii and California. Yoly currently resides in Encinitas, California where she follows her passions of artistic development through creative piano teaching and in exploring her own personal music and art compositions. |
